I really hate what the cold does to my skin. My skin will be completely normal, no oils or anything but then I get dry patches in some areas which ruins my makeup. So the lesson I've learned during the winter? Moisturize! Skin care first before any makeup because if your skin is flaky and patchy then your makeup will be too no matter what primer you use.
Kylie Cosmetics Bronze Kyshadow Palette
December 17, 2016 • Featured, kylie cosmetics, makeup
I absolutely love Kylie's makeup looks, so when she posted a tutorial using this palette during the release I was so excited. At first I was disappointed that there wasn't a mirror, and thought that I didn't need it because it was just another neutral palette. But after trying her liquid lipsticks, I became obsessed with her brand overall. The quality is great and I know that I'll be reaching for these shades often. When there was free shipping I decided to order this for myself and finally give in to the hype.
November Favorites
December 16, 2016 • favorites, Featured, makeup
Now that November is over, my favorite time of the year is almost here. I'm so excited that it's going to be Christmas soon...but time is going by so quickly. The semester is almost over, I have yet to finish projects and I have finals coming up. Maybe that's why I was so afraid of November ending. In the month of November I didn't wear makeup for the last quarter of it because I got my lasik done! I couldn't wear makeup for a week, but these products were on my vanity for the beginning of the month because I've used it everyday.

VIB Rouge Haul
November 30, 2016 • Featured, haul, makeup
This sale was long awaited, I know I know. I remember the day I got the reminder, that I immediately went to my shopping cart and checked out....kidding, it's much harder than that. Everyone goes through the process of adding, removing, and adding something back into the cart, right? I posted my wishlist last time and I did get a few of the things that I wanted, some others....unexpected.
My Black Friday Shopping List
November 25, 2016 • Featured, personal, wishlist
I think all of us shopping addicts get excited for this time of year. Sales sales sales! I'm really excited for Black Friday and I've had my list prepared for a while now. Well, maybe most of these items were added into my wish list last minute but I'm really excited for the sales.
e.l.f haul
November 22, 2016 • e.l.f cosmetics, Featured, makeup, makeup tools
I'm always telling myself that I don't need more makeup because it's true. But brushes? I feel like I'm always finding new brushes that make my makeup apply even more beautifully so I won't stop myself from buying more. But e.l.f. cosmetics is really affordable, so when I stumbled upon these hidden gems I couldn't stop myself from making a purchase.
So I turned the big 21 about a month ago and I'm still in shock. It felt like just yesterday that I was 16, and now I'm 21. It's a big milestone apparently, but I still feel the same. I love birthdays because they come around once a year obviously, but it's kind of nice having a day where you could celebrate yourself, don't you think? I was very fortunate this year to receive a big present from my parents and I'm still thanking them for it everyday.

October Favorites
November 8, 2016 • Featured, makeup, monthly favorites, skin care
Time is definitely flying back so fast, I can't believe it's November already. I remember it being July and wishing for fall weather. Now it's November?! How crazy. Anyways, October has been my bad month. Bad because of all the makeup shopping I've been doing. I need to get back into the habit of not buying anything, but there's been so many new releases and of course all these sales coming up from Ulta & Sephora. For the month of October I have been reaching for a few older items that I've had for a while.
My Sephora VIB Rouge Wishlist
November 4, 2016 • Featured, makeup, sephora, skin care
It's that time of year again! The Sephora VIB Rouge sale is finally here, it begins (today) November 4 and ends November 7th. As usual, there is 20% off you entire purchase! This happens once a year, I believe that in the spring it's 15% off. But, since there is a 20% off sale it's time to purchase the accumulating list of products in my shopping cart. You may know that I have a bit of a makeup shopping addiction if you've been following my blog for a while. But I've been adding a bunch of things to my cart for the past 2 weeks waiting for this sale.
Why I'm Switching Back To The Beauty Blender
October 28, 2016 • Featured, makeup, sponge
I've been a fan of the original beauty blender once before, but the price became too much after having to replace it every 3 to 4 months. I then switched to the cheaper alternative which was the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. The Real Techniques sponge was only $6.99 compared to the beauty blender which retails for $20. You could get two Real Techniques sponges for less than the price of one beauty blender. I was using the miracle complexion sponge for over 2 years, and I've finally decided to switch back to the ever so famous beauty blender.
Lorac Mega Pro 3: Swatches & Thoughts
October 12, 2016 • Featured, makeup, swatches
In the past when the Lorac Mega Pro Palettes released I never wanted them, then it always happened that during the last minute I end up wishing I had them but they're already out of stock. Luckily for me I never got any of those palettes because I now have this palette and I am in love with almost all of the colors. It has a lot of mauve, bronze, and orange shades which are my favorites. With a sleek white packaging and rose gold lettering, it really goes with the theme. But is this palette worth the money?
Worth the Hype? Make Up For Ever Excessive Lash Mascara
October 1, 2016 • Featured, makeup, review
Happy first day of October! I am so excited, I feel like as soon as I saw that it was October 1st, I was feeling all fall ready. Can you believe that it's almost Halloween? Then as soon as it's November 1st I know that I'll be ready for all the holiday candles and makeup. Anyways, lets talk about mascara. I've heard so much about the new Make Up For Ever Excessive Lash Mascara and I was very curious about it. Almost everyone who had it said it worked wonders and made their lashes look amazing. Well, did it?
Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation Review
September 25, 2016 • anastasia beverly hills, Featured, foundation, makeup
When this foundation was first talked about on instagram and through Norvina's snapchat I didn't think much of it. Honestly, I didn't even want to buy this foundation because I didn't think I would need it. I already had a couple of foundations and used most of them so I wasn't expecting to buy this. The only reason why I decided to give this a try was because I heard this was good for normal to oily skin. I'm an oily skin gal so I was really excited for this, and I've never tried a stick foundation before.
Battle of the solid brush cleansers
August 27, 2016 • brush cleanser, Featured
Traditional brush shampoo is what I usually use to clean my brushes and sponges. Just kidding, let's be real...I've been using the Johnson's baby shampoo for years now. Why? Because it's gentle and I know it won't damage my brushes. But sometimes liquid soap can be a little too much of a waste of time as well, I feel like I'm someone who will use too much product so whenever I'm trying to clean out the soap it can take me up to five minutes on only one brush. When I was walking around in Sephora I noticed their solid brush cleanser and decided to give it a try. I'm not sure why I decided to go for the Sephora collection instead of the beauty blender cleanser but let's just say that I finally got to try both out.
July Favorites

I didn't do a June favorites post and I feel like that has made me confirm July's favorites even more because most of these products were going to be featured in that post too. I'm still learning how to balance my time more, I bought a new planner so I'll be giving myself deadlines for everything now. When the end of august rolls around I know that I'll be even busier because of school and work. But as of right now, I am still really trying to put all of my dedication into blogging. Enough with the rambling, it's time for me to reveal my favorites for the month of July.

5 Summer Essentials For long lasting makeup wear
July 26, 2016 • Featured, makeup
I have oily skin. Let me rephrase that, I have oily skin most of the year, but when summer rolls around I have greasy oily skin. Gross...I know. It's even worse when I actually want to wear makeup because it's hard finding something that won't slip and slide off my face. So as time passed and I got a chance to try out different products on the market, I think I've found the perfect products that would help me keep my makeup in place.

Is The Gwen Stefani Urban Decay Palette Worth The Hype?
June 29, 2016 • makeup, review, urban decay
When this palette first released it was talked about a lot. I mean if I had it when they first released it then I would've been crazy about it too. The colors that were so beautiful since it is a nice neutral palette with pops of color. Who wouldn't love that? Urban Decay eyeshadows also have great pigmentation but I feel like the hype around this palette didn't last that long. It could explain why there's a big price drop.
This Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette retailed for $58 but then reduced to $39, and it's now $25 which is less than 50% off. There could be many reasons as to why the price has become so low, I mean it is a limited edition product so maybe they're trying to get rid of all the extras. As soon as I saw the price drop you bet that I ran to my local Sephora to pick this up. I was so excited, I can never get enough neutral palettes.
When I swatched some of the shades onto my hand when I was in the store they looked so pigmented, but when I got home and actually started to apply this I was devastated. I'm fairly pale so when the darkest brown shade in this palette 'Zone' didn't show up on my eyelids I was already sensing a problem. I had to try and build it up about four times until it gave a good color payoff. A few of the shades were ok, but I was getting ready to go to a birthday party and when I put the shade 'Pop' on my lids I almost panicked. It caused a glittery mess all over my eyelids and I was already running late to the party. It looked as if I applied a really glittery eyeshadow and now it's faded. It was a disaster and I had to use about 2 other eyeshadows to cover up this mess of an eyeshadow.
The fall out of these shadows were also ridiculous, I'm not sure if the formulation was any different than the Naked palettes but I was expecting much more from an Urban Decay palette.

If you're someone who doesn't own too many eyeshadows or want to get started with makeup then maybe this would be the perfect palette since you don't have to worry about going overboard with the colors. But would I buy this again? No. I did return it for a reason, I really tried to like it but it wasn't working out for me at all. Could it be possible that I got a bad one? Could be. But still, I wanted this since it first released and then when I got it, I was dissappointed.Do you have this Gwen Stefani Urban Decay Palette?
Mario Badescu Drying Lotion vs Kate Somerville Eradikate, Which is Better?

I've been saying this a lot in my recent posts, but yes...I've been stressed out lately. Which means that I have definitely been breaking out. I felt like my skin was starting to get bad again so I knew that I needed to step up my skincare routine as well as fix up my eating habits. April Favorites
May 6, 2016 • fashion, favorites, makeup
- NYX Concealer In A Jar (Green): I bought this a while ago and didn't use it much because I thought that it didn't do much for me. But recently I've been getting a few break outs here and there so I decided to reach for this again, well it's not the best green concealer but I do think that it works. I've been using this almost everyday now.
- Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Concealer: After getting this concealer, there is no way I'll ever be using anything else. I love how weightless it feels and that it doesn't cake up on me or show any lines I may have under my eyes.
- Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer: I finally got my eyebrows threaded again and I feel like with this brow pencil I don't have to do too much with my brows. It looks so natural and I find myself reaching for this the most now out of all my other brow products.
- Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara: I LOVE HOW MY LASHES LOOK WITH THIS. But I hate how flaky it gets and that it smudges a lot on me. But sometimes having voluminous lashes is worth having to constantly clean it. I wish there was a way I could make this smudge proof but i have yet to find a way to fix that.
- Moleskine Large Square Notebook: I've been using this everyday to keep track of my expenses, work hours, to do list, and basically anything I need to write down. I tried making this my bullet journal but I feel like I get tired of drawing lines on it so I stuck with my other planners.
- Keds Champion Oxford Sneakers: I didn't post a picture of this because of how dirty it is right now, but I've had them for about 2 years now and they stayed really clean for a long time until I started wearing them everyday. These are so comfortable and I just placed an order for a brand new pair.

I'm so disappointed in myself for makeup shopping....again! But Ulta had a 20% off sale and then Sephora had one for 15%, I really couldn't help myself. I have 2 more hauls, and after that I'll be done. There was so many new releases and everything looked so pretty, I had to get my hands on them especially with the sale.
The Perfect Foundation For Oily Skin
April 14, 2016 • foundation, makeup
I don't know what it is about Lancome foundations...but they're always the ones that seem to control my oil the best. Let me start off by mentioning that I have oily skin (you guys probably know that already from the title haha), during the colder months I'll have combination. I'll get some dry patches around my nose and a bit on my chin. Those dry patches could also be due to the fact that I apply way too much of my anti acne primers, those seem to make me a little more dry in certain areas.I've been really busy these past few months, I'm still figuring out how to balance school, work, and my personal life. Whenever I'm working I like to wear a foundation that I know will last me all day because I know I won't have time to touch up my makeup. When it comes to running errands or even being in class - I don't care too much about the lasting power of my foundation.
This foundation is called the Lancome Nude Miracle Weightless Foundation, the name is spot on. Trust me. I've been searching for a long time for a lightweight foundation that provided enough coverage and well....I was searching for a miracle. When I was at the Sephora store one day, I stumbled upon this. After receiving a sample of this foundation I immediately fell in love. It blended in with my skin so easily and I felt as if I didn't have anything on my face. I'm a huge fan of lightweight foundations now because one day during work I looked in the mirror and realized how much my foundation has caked up and to make things worse, it was separating. I was absolutely horrified. HORRIFIED.
So with the sample of this foundation I decided that I would try this out for work, I mean I already went a day with foundation that was separating on my face...no big deal. When I was at work I realized that it felt like I wasn't even wearing anything on my face. I got oily but not as much as usual. I did have to blot once throughout the day, but that's still good compared to the usual blotting count which is about 4 times a day (goodbye to my blotting sheets). This foundation is very lightweight and the coverage is very buildable. I usually use about 5 drops total and that gives me a medium coverage. Days when I don't need as much I'll use only three drops and it'll give me light coverage. I haven't tried to figure out if this can become a full coverage foundation yet because I don't like full coverage foundations.
Overall, I think that if you're someone with oily skin you will love this foundation, It feels very lightweight (but provides enough coverage) and it seems to control my oil. For people with drier skin types I don't think this would be a good match because sometimes this will cling onto those dry patches I have and then it's difficult to get rid of.

March Favorites
April 6, 2016 • favorites, lifestyle, makeup
It's finally April, woohoo! That means we're getting so much closer to summer and I'm really excited about it. For the month of March, I felt like my makeup was very simple. If you read my post about 'My Long Lasting Everyday Makeup Routine' you will know that those products are my March favorites as well, but I didn't want to include all of those since they are part of my everyday routine.
My Long Lasting Everyday Makeup Routine
March 28, 2016 • makeup
My makeup routine hasn't really changed all that much, I'm still a very "no makeup makeup" kinda girl but my products did sort of change. I've been so busy lately that I really needed long lasting makeup because I did not have any time throughout the day to freshen up my makeup. I felt like all these products really helped with the longevity of it. I also want to mention that I've really been trying to write a lot more but I've been so out of it because of classes and work; but now I'm feeling inspired again and will definitely be posting more frequently because I'm finally learning the importance of time management as well.
For my eyes I've been using my usual cream eyeshadow from Bobbi Brown in the shade Shore. I've been using this for the longest time now and I think it's much better than the MAC paint pots. After I use that to prime my eyelids I'll use the Tartelette In Bloom palette, the shade 'Charmer' is what I usually use to set the cream eyeshadow, some days I will skip that step and go straight in with the other eyeshadows. On an everyday basis I'll use 'Smarty Pants' as a transition shade, 'Jetsetter' in my crease and 'Firecracker' on my lids. I love how natural it looks which is perfect for my everyday makeup look.
I've been obsessed with the Dior Diorshow Mascara, it's one of my absolute favorites and I don't think I'll ever stop using this one. I remember using this in high school, loving it and suddenly forgetting about it. I started using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow again and I'm so in love with it. Back then I used to go overboard with this, but now I learned to use a light hand when applying this because if I press my brush a little too hard it'll look really intense which isn't what I want.
I've been breaking out due to stress and I also think think it's because I've been switching between so many new products that my skin isn't used to all the change. The CoverFX Mattifying Primer has been helping my skin a lot, I find that it's the best primer that helps with my breakouts. The Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24HR Foundation is probably the only foundation I'll ever wear. Every time I switch to something new I always end up coming back to this. It's seriously so lightweight and lasts all day on my skin....I mean it, through the sweating (gross I know) and oil blotting, that says a lot. My newest purchase is the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Concealer, and the only reason why I bought this was because it contained the word 'weightless' in it. This is so pricy and I finally splurged when I realized how badly powder would cake up over my concealer. I wanted something that provided coverage but wasn't too heavy, when I used this I was so glad I made the purchase because I use this everyday now.
After the base of my face makeup is on I'll set all over my face with the Laura Mercier Transluscent Powder, it keeps my oily face matte which is why I love it. My go to bronzer recently has been the Hourglass Ambient Bronzer in Luminous Bronze Light, it looks so natural on my skin and I love how it feels too. It's very easy to blend out and doesn't go patchy on my skin. It also gives me a bit of a glow which is why I don't always wear highlighter. This blush is from an old MAC collection and it's such a beautiful shade, it's called 'Seduced at Sea'. It adds some color to my cheeks which is what I need in the morning even after all that bronzer.
Please tell me that you purchased the Sephora Give Me Some Nude Lip Set because wow....just wow. I've been using ALL the shades in this set and they're all so beautiful. I've been loving the NUDESTIX Lip Pencil in Whisper, I basically combine it with any other lipstick but lately I've been liking the combination with the Tarte Creamy Matte Lip Paint in Namaste. To complete the entire look I'll set my entire face by spraying the Boscia White Charcoal Mattifying Setting Spray all over. Even though this doesn't make my face look completely matte, I'm glad it doesnt because sometimes the matte look can appear very fake/powdery on my skin which I don't particularly like.
(P.S: I'm so proud of how these pictures came out, I've been in a photography rut and this gave me the confidence to try harder)

Does A Tinted Lash Primer Really Work?
March 17, 2016 • makeup
When I first heard about the Benefit They're Real! Tinted Lash Primer I didn't think much of it. I've tried so many different lash primers in the past and they all didn't work. In fact, they always made my lashes look worse than they did. I got this sample size from Sephora with a promo code I believe, I only got it because there wasn't anything else that interested me. When I received this in the mail I didn't look at it once, it was sitting at my vanity for a few weeks until one day I decided to finally try it out.
I tried it out with the They're Real! Mascara and it didn't make a difference for me. Knowing that it made no difference actually disappointed me a lot. Even though I ignored this product, a part of me really wanted it to work. A few days later I decided to give it another try but with a different mascara...well, it actually worked! I paired it with the Makeup For Ever Smoky Extravagant Mascara and it was magical! My eyelashes looked so long and thick, I was actually surprised about it. Both wands look nothing alike either which was probably why my eyelashes looked amazing.
Overall, I really enjoyed this mascara primer. Whenever I go out and don't wear much makeup I'll just wear this. It looks very natural since it is brown in color and it gives you longer lashes, I wish it gave more volume though. Since this is a sample size, you're probably wondering if I would repurchase the full size afterwards.....*Drum roll* YES! I already added it to my Sephora cart and the day I finish this sample, I will definitely repurchase. I don't think I've gone a day without using this now.

February Favorites
March 10, 2016 • favorites, fragrance, makeup
- Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H Long Wear Foundation - Out of all the foundations I own this one has got to be the most long wearing one. Not only do I need a long wearing foundation but I want something with lighter coverage and won't make me look oily. Did this help with the oil? Not really. Did it last me all day? Yes. I love how this foundation is transfer proof even when my face is an oily mess.
- Boscia White Charcoal Mattifying Makeup Setting Spray - I really love this spray and I've been using this every single day. (I also wrote about this recently, you can read it here.) I think that it's been really great on my sensitive oily skin. I did an experiment (I sound like a scientist right now saying that word) where I used this one day and the next day I didn't....oh and let's just say there was a huge difference. I don't know how my makeup ever survived without this.
- theBalm Mary Lou Manizer - OH MY GOSH....how did I just get this around December? I've been using this almost all the time now. I love how glowy it makes me look and it's really pigmented as well. A little goes a long way too which is what I love about it.
- Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Duo - I know I talked about it in my January favorites but it's just too good not to constantly rave about. It helps my brows look natural and I love how that looks.
- ColourPop Lipstick in Brink - I love the ColourPop lipstick formulas, they feel great on my lips and not as drying as their matte liquid lipsticks. I feel like this really lasts all day and the pigmentation is so good.
- Jo Malone Blue Agave & Cacao Cologne - This smells wonderful. I'm always a sucker for sweeter scents, but this one isn't exactly sweet. I'm not sure how to explain it, I'm horrible at explaining fragrances but it smells like a flowery coffee. It lasts all day and I have the travel size which I love to carry around in my purse whenever I'm wearing this.
My Top 5 Bronzers
March 3, 2016 • bronzer, makeup
A long time ago when I first started wearing makeup I had no idea what bronzer was. I thought it was similar to a self tanner but I was wrong obviously. Flash forward, I'm now obsessed with bronzing my face. I don't think I could go without it. I could go without wearing blush, highlight....maybe, but bronzer? Never!
What are your favorite bronzers?
The first bronzer I fell in love with was the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer. I have this bronzer in a full size and in this Too Faced Little Black Book of Bronzers palette as well. I think this one is the most popular bronzer at the moment and I understand why. I like how it isn't too warm toned and at the same time it isn't really cool toned. It's not exactly a contour shade but I think that it's possible to achieve a contoured look with this. Usually I'll reach for this bronzer when I'm in a rush to get to work or school because I know that I don't need to blend a lot with this and that it won't look like I put some mud on my face.
This is the bronzer that I probably should've purchased a full size of. During the winter months my tan fades away so I become really pale. There had been times when the chocolate soleil bronzer looked way too dark on me. So whenever my skin is pale I'll use the Too Faced Chocolate Soliel Matte Bronzer in Milk Chocolate. The formula and pigmentation is just as good as the chocolate color.
When I first purchased this palette I felt like it was a mistake because there were so many shades that I probably wasn't going to use. Why did I get the palette? Honestly, I don't know. But after trying Sun Bunny Natural Bronzer it was so worth it! It isn't too shimmery but I like how glowy it makes me look, it's very natural looking and I think it would look really good during the warmer months.
I haven't tried many theBalm products until around January, let me just say that I'm really impressed by this bronzer. This is the Desert Bronzer Blush, at first it looked really muddy on me but I realized that it was because I applied it all wrong. The first time I applied this I used a really dense brush and dipped it into the product multiple times which was a huge mistake. Now I'll use a fluffier brush and dip it in about two times then when I apply it onto my face I'll press it towards my temples then blend it out. It gives me a really beautiful bronzed face, I also like using this as a blush at times.
When this first launched I didn't even want it because I wasn't a huge bronzer fan. But after I purchased the Too Faced Bronzer book I became obsessed with bronzing. This is the Hourglass Ambient Bronzer in Luminous Bronze Light, if you were to ask me to describe this bronzer with one word it would be magic. Yes, magic. I don't know what it is about this bronzer that makes my skin look so healthy and glowy. Whenever I wear this it makes me feel confident and beautiful.
Opps, It's Another Ulta Haul
February 26, 2016 • makeup, skincare
I feel like lately it seems like I've been having a lot of hauls, but the truth is that I actually purchased a lot of my things during the same time but never got the chance to write about it. Now that is the truth! Anyways, I bought all of these goodies after a long time of wondering if I should even get them. Did I really need a new eyeshadow palette? Did I really need a new eyebrow pencil? Probably not but I couldn't help myself.
Impressed to Buy the Full Size? Part 2
February 15, 2016 • makeup, samples, skincare
Whenever I buy makeup online there are always samples that'll come with my package. Most of the time I fall in love with it and other times I'm extremely disappointed. I've saved up some points at Sephora and got a few of these samples because I was interested in the full size product and because these deluxe sizes are a pretty good deal for 100 points.

- Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Lotion: I'm a huge fan of this brand, I've purchased a lot of products from their line so when I saw that they have a product with SPF I knew I needed to try it. The only thing was that the SPF wasn't that high, it's only 20 and I usually like wearing 30 and up. This retails for $67 and although this worked fine on my skin, I wouldn't spend that much money on it especially since the price tag is really high.
- Fresh Rose Face Mask: I really wanted to love this especially since this is always being talked about. Masks are always something that I like to invest in if it'll help my skin. When I put this on I immediately felt my face start to itch. I have really sensitive skin so as soon as I felt the itch I washed it all off. Thankfully my face didn't break out into a reaction, but after that I don't ever want to use it again.
- Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser: I've been using Boscia for a long time now so I never really think about a product being too harsh for my skin because they seem to work well for sensitive skin. When I washed my face with this I felt like all the moisture was being sucked out of my skin and about half an hour later my face was getting red, dry and patchy. I'm disappointed it didn't work for me, but it sounded like such a good cleanser.
- Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment: I love this! I bought the full size product of this and my mom even got one too, it seems to work well for all skin types. This is also great for my sensitive skin and I love how it isn't harsh at all.
- Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer: I wish this primer wasn't so expensive because I would buy the full size. But since the full size is $52 I don't think I'll ever end up buying it. It works great on days my skin is really oily and it works great on days where my skin is sort of dry.
